When you add a statement, the PDF or photos are sent over an encrypted connection to our server so they can be read.

Our server deletes the file from storage as soon as it has loaded it for reading, before the reading finishes.

To read the statement we send it to Anthropic’s Claude API. Anthropic processes it for us under its commercial terms, which do not allow it to train models on it. Anthropic may keep API data for a limited time for safety and abuse monitoring under its own policy: anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

The transactions we read are kept on our server only so your browser or phone can collect them, and are deleted within one hour.

After that, the transactions live only on your device (your browser’s storage or the app’s storage). Delete them any time in Settings.

When a phone app makes an Excel file, it sends the transactions to our server to build the file and gets the file straight back. Nothing is stored. In a web browser the file is built on your computer.

Ask for bank logins or connect to your bank.

Sell, share or rent your data.
•
Use your statements to train AI models.
•
Show ads or use advertising trackers.

To stop abuse, we count how many statements are added from each internet connection per day, using a one-way hash of the IP address. The count is deleted after the day.

Our host (Netlify) keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for a short period. Our own logs contain only job numbers, never statement content, names, account numbers or amounts.

There is no account, so we don’t collect your name or email unless you write to us.
Tieout is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
